Gearing Up For “A Really Big Show”

With key decision-makers from the world’s leading health technology innovators descending on Orlando for 4 days this February, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference & Exhibition is where the industry comes together to discuss hot topics, meet colleagues, broker deals and set the agenda for the new year. It’s a must-attend event that will feature hundreds of educational sessions, a keynote from Hillary Clinton, and lots of talk about the future of Obamacare and the troubled Healthcare.gov rollout. If historical trends prevail, we can expect anywhere from 30,000 – 40,000 attendees, including over 1,000 exhibiting companies and 150+ print, online, broadcast and freelance journalists, industry analysts, bloggers and social media ambassadors.

Schwartz MSL will have at least 12 clients attending, exhibiting and/or speaking at the show – and many will use HIMSS14 as a forum to launch important news.

We’re looking forward to attending again this February – as we have for nearly a decade.5 years at HIMSS Schwartz MSL
In the meantime, we’re more than happy to speak with you now and review and recommend strategies for enhancing your presence at the show with digital production, social media or other content creation. Specifically:

Digital Production
We’ve recently shared tips from the folks in our digital studios on best practices for incorporating video into your HIMSS plans. Schwartz MSL has a variety of video options to help you maximize your HIMSS investment. From videos created ahead of time that highlight your company or a new product, to “on-the-scene” videos posted during the conference, to wrap-up videos after the show, we can help you create compelling digital content to tell your story.

Social Media
On the social media front, this year HIMSS will be premiering a new initiative called “Your Turn at HIMSS14” – which is a way of engaging with show attendees and industry bloggers on a variety of healthcare technology topics. Here at Schwartz MSL, we understand that you need a different approach to reach and engage healthcare technology influencers. We can help you identify who is relevant to your company, which social media platforms make the most sense and how to engage effectively with key stakeholders before, during and after the show.

We’ll also continue to monitor the social media universe and analyze what the hottest topics being discussed around HIMSS are. Attendees will want to promote their HIMSS14 presence via Twitter and LinkedIn and join the discussion by using the #HIMSS14 hashtag.

Content Creation
We’re also happy to help you with your content needs. Well before you head to HIMSS, consider the sort of content you’ll want to have available on your website or in your booth. Maybe a position paper that describes your company’s take on a particular healthcare IT challenge? Or a survey, the results of which you can preview or unveil at the show that unearths useful information about market need or buyer preferences? Or maybe use that survey data to create an interactive infographic for your website and for use on iPads at HIMSS14. Schwartz MSL can help create your content strategy and then deliver the pieces you need.

So, please don’t hesitate to get in touch to chat before the show or to set up a meeting in Orlando with our team. I can be reached at 781-684-0770 or at drussell@schwartzmsl.com.
